BREACH/REIKÄ

 

Saarinen transforms the substantialist installation- and art term coolly into its exact opposite: Instead of presenting “something”, the Finnish sculptress shows its distinct opposite: Well defined holes – both real and large-scale projected ones. “Breach/Reikä” explains the well defined absence of art to art itself. Her thought is underlined by specially developed “hole frames”, which are incorporated into each appropriate physical space and might represent an oft barely surmountable obstacle for exhibition organisers.
