TRANSIT-IN-RESIDENCE
Eva Torrent investigates all-too-public places for their hidden exotic qualities. In her research, the artist came across motorway service stations, which she - at first conceptually - selected as artist-in-residence locations. Like nowhere else in the civilized environment, these locations permit the daily examination of the dislocation and nomadic nature of all other service station visitors. There arises a visual and textual report of experience, comparable in its open caginess with the novels of Jon Krakauer.
