RICHARD ANDERSON

SYNOPSIS

ENCYCLOPEDIA OF THE WHISTLED SPEECH

Celebrities and those who feel it is their vocation present vital texts (such as the Declaration of Independence of the United States, poems by Ossip Mandelstam, the philosophical-logical treatise by Ludwig Wittgenstein, artists’ manifestos by Yves Klein, Jean Tinguely and other artists, the Communist Manifesto, the Song of Songs and many more), by whistling the tune of the original lyrics. Thereby, a consciously personally selected “encyclopedia” of a reformation of the spoken word into the whistled word is generated, which only appears to be disrespectful. Richard Anderson’s Encyclopedia of the Whistled Speech succeeds the legendary action of his father, avant-gardist Colin Anderson (1922-1996), who in 1949 whistled the Basic Constitutional Law of the Federal Republic of Germany which had just then come into effect.
